Looking for a reliable chiropractor near Decatur, GA? We’ve got you covered. Our mission goes beyond simply helping you feel better: We are fully committed to improving your life. We start with an extensive examination (often described by patients as “the most thorough exam” they’ve ever had) and use the latest, most effective treatment to relieve pain and improve overall health.
We have two important goals:
Chiropractic care focuses on the spine’s alignment. We use corrective chiropractic (spinal manipulation) adjustments and other targeted, evidence-based corrective techniques to bring the spine back into proper alignment. Some people visit chiropractors for relief from back pain, while others seek treatment for more physiologic conditions, such as migraines or asthma.
From chronic pain to sports injuries, some conditions that chiropractic treatment may help with include:
At 16, Dr. Shapiro faced knee surgery from a wrestling injury but tried chiropractic care instead. After his first treatment, the pressure on his knee from a misaligned spine was relieved, allowing his knee to heal without surgery. This experience inspired him to become a chiropractor.
Dr. Shapiro graduated from Life University in 1993 and established his practice in Atlanta with his wife, Arlene. Since 2007, he has been part of the University’s extension faculty, mentoring senior interns and training future chiropractors.
Dr. Sanaz Amouzegar-Asli is a Georgia Board Certified chiropractor with a certification in Physical Therapy. She earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University and holds a Bachelor’s in Biology with minors in Physics and French.
Dr. Asli is passionate about corrective care, focusing on spinal alignment and progressive rehabilitation. She enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, exercising, and exploring new restaurants in her free time.
We aim to make your first visit about YOU and not about filling out a bunch of paperwork. So, after scheduling your appointment with our office, we will email you our New Patient Application online forms. Please fill them out before you come in so that you'll be all set upon arriving at our office!
You will meet with the doctor and review your medical history and current health issues on your first visit. To gain a global perspective on your symptoms and determine the underlying cause, the doctor will ask questions about the problems you’re experiencing as well as your overall health. During this session, feel free to openly discuss your health problems, expectations, and concerns.
Following the consult, we will perform many tests to determine which body tissues are affected and to what extent. Our findings will help us identify specific areas of your body that need attention from a musculoskeletal, neurologic, and physiologic standpoint.
It may be necessary to take digital X-rays to scientifically confirm the best treatment for your particular spinal structure/condition. Our high-quality x-ray images have low radiation exposure like those typically found only in the finest hospitals. We will review and give you a detailed explanation of our findings at your follow-up appointment.

Have questions about visiting a chiropractor in Decatur, GA? We’ve got answers!
A Chiropractor works to reduce the implications of spinal and postural misalignments. Doing so resets the brain and nervous system by realigning the spine with proper postural positioning. This takes physical stress off your spine, discs, and nerves. It also takes stress off of your spinal cord, allowing all of the energy to flow freely throughout the nervous system. This enhances the health of every cell, tissue, and organ in your body.
Yes! Chiropractors are good for your body and help improve your overall health. Many bodily conditions are caused by a nervous system that is not working at its optimal level. The spinal cord houses a good portion of the nervous system, and when vertebrae are out of alignment, pressure is put on the nerves coming out from the spinal cord that go to all the organs and tissues in the body. When proper alignment is restored to the spine, that unnecessary pressure is removed, allowing those organs and tissues to get the free flow of energy and messages they need to function at their best!
We offer various chiropractic services to help you live with less pain and a better quality of life. Here are some benefits that you may find at a chiropractic clinic:
Chiropractors work to restructure spinal structure and improve overall health and body function by getting to the root cause of what is going on to fix the problem. They start with a roadmap, a patient’s X-ray, to know how to help that patient improve his/her structure.
Physiotherapists work to help their patients manage pain and improve balance, mobility, and motor function. They do this by stretching and strengthening muscles. This works great unless you are doing this to a compromised spinal structure, which can cause increased pain and discomfort. They do not take X-rays and, therefore, do not have a roadmap to help patients with spinal structural problems.
